Silverdell Scoops ARCA Gold Award 2008
For the second year running Silverdell has been awarded the prestigious ARCA Gold Training Award.
The award presented at the ARCA AGM in October, was given to Silverdell in recognition of their high pass rates achieved for their personnel throughout 2008 on a national level.

Local support for local communities
Silverdell (UK) Limited have secured a 4 year framework commencing July 2008 for a prominent and pro-active London Borough with a value of around £1.6 million.
The contract involves the removal of asbestos containing materials and subsequent reinstatement with a suitable alternative material. As a company, we pride ourselves on serving local boroughs near to where we are based and provide them with the highest level of service.
Silverdell were appointed based a proven track record in the public sector working on occupied and un-occupied premises in large and small scale works. The portfolio includes education, housing and public / community buildings.
Working to improve the NHS over the next 3 years until 2011
Silverdell have been appointed to assist the redevelopment and refurbishment of one of the largest hospital modernisation projects in South Wales. With an estimated value of £1.9 Million, Silverdell will undertake soft stripping demolition works in conjunction with the removal of sprayed coating asbestos removal to structural steel.
Within the package of works, electrical, water supplies and other services may need disconnection whilst the enclosure is live as they serve other areas of the hospital. Silverdell will undertake additional mechanical works as part of our contractual commitments. All works are to be carried out in conjunction with the day to day running of the hospital within a restricted confine of ‘contractors area’. The works are set to continue until 2011 in a phased approach. In addition to Silverdell (UK) Ltd’s competitive tendering, the contract was secured on the client and Trust having the confidence in Silverdell to meet their high standards, expectations and program requirements.
To complement this, recent works have been undertaken near the Home Counties in respect of another major hospital refurbishment with a value of approaching £1.5 Million. Works are due to be completed on this project by the end of 2008.
Residents Open Day extravaganza in Hillingdon
Hillingdon Homes is very pro-active in building relationships with residents, the local community and partner supply chain members who help maintain high levels of service delivery year round.
The Community day was sponsored by the partner contractors, based on a theme of Great Homes and Great Neighbourhoods. Approaching 3000 tenants partied at the Free Fun day extravaganza.

Silverdell opens Waste Transfer Facility in Leicester
Silverdell UK Limited have recently opened their Waste Transfer Facility in Leicester. The facility is conveniently located just off Junction 21a of the M1 at Thurmaston, Leicester and can accept up to 10 tonnes of asbestos waste each day.
Jon Freeman, Waste Transfer Manager, Silverdell commented: “We are pleased to be able to offer a waste transfer facility to take purely asbestos waste from the surrounding areas and further afield. The facility boasts dedicated skips for companies to simply turn up and dispose of their asbestos waste or they can take advantage of our licensed waste collection service”.
